Our research methodologies allow us to create materials that range from targeted, useful articles to detailed reports combining a number of different research methods.

Idealware specializes in combining traditional research techniques like interviews and surveys with software-selection methodologies - like detailed ratings of software tools against a rubric - to generate real knowledge on affordable budgets. We then package our findings into approachable reports that help nonprofits make the on-the-ground decisions important to them.  

These reports have been very successful. For example, more than 6,000 people registered to view our online donation tools report on the Idealware web site, and many more have viewed it on TechSoup’s. In an evaluation of the report, 60 percent of readers said they told others about the report, and 47 percent of those who read the report with the goal of finding a specific online donation tool said they were likely to sign up for a tool based on what they read. The 141 people who completed the evaluation reported that they expected to save a combined total of $40,000 worth of time and money alone—an average of $161, and five and half hours, per reader.
