2011 Social Media Decision Making Guide Consultant Directory

To be updated in October 2011, Idealware’s Nonprofit Social Media Decision Making Guide will use research-based findings to help nonprofits answer the difficult questions common to organizations beginning or expanding their social media efforts. Based on more than a year of research, including the results of four surveys, eight focus groups and stories of what's worked and what hasn't from more than 750 organizations, the 50 page Decision Making Guide and accompanying 15-sheet workbook provides a process to define an effective social media strategy based on goals, audience and the amount of time participants are willing to commit.

The guide will also include a directory of the consultants who can help organizations define and execute social media strategies.

The audience is nonprofits eager to understand social media—we estimate 5,000- 10,000 readers will download the guide (the first edition has been downloaded more than 6,000 times, both our 2009 and 2011 Consumers Guide to Low Cost Donor Management Systems reports have been downloaded almost 10,000 times, and our 2009 and 2010 Open Source CMS reports over 20,000). The guide will give readers a sense of the right direction to go, but in many cases they’ll want to turn to a consultant to fully define and execute a strategy. Make sure you’re listed in the directory of consultants who can help.

We’d love to include you. Sign up now, as the deadline for listings is September 22nd.

As a bonus, we plan on including the same social media consultant directory in our upcoming Social Media Policy Workbook, to be released in early 2012. This workbook, likely to reach an audience of somewhat larger organizations, will walk nonprofits through the step-by-step process of creating an internal social media policy and formal documentation to meet the specific needs of their organizations. So if you purchase an ad or directory listing, you’ll get twice the bang for the buck: your listing will appear in two publications, with somewhat different audiences, separated by three to four months.

To make the directory accessible to all, the price for a directory listing is based on a sliding scale. We define Small Firms as individuals or firms who earn less than $100,000 in annual revenue, Medium Firms between $100,000-$500,000, and Large Firms more than $500,000.

  • Enhanced Listing (Small firm: $90, Medium firm: $180, Large firm: $360) List your name, contact information, geographic region AND your logo and up to 200 characters of text about your services.  Purchase an enhanced listing online now>

  • Directory Ad ($750): Display a half-page ad within the consultant directory. Includes an enhanced listing, as described above. If you're interested in purchasing an ad, please contact Andrea Berry at andrea@idealware.org or 207-699-4236.

  • NTC Print Sponsorship ($1,500): Stand out to nonprofit decision makers! Display your logo on the cover of a limited edition NTC printed version of the report to be distributed at NTEN’s Nonprofit Technology Conference in April 2011 as one of two Print Sponsors. Your logo will be placed on the cover of the 500 printed copies created specifically for the NTC audience. Your logo will also be placed on a sign at the conference advertizing the free report and will be displayed on the registration page of the report online, below the lead sponsors.  You’ll also receive a half page ad in the front of the Guide in the NTC printed edition (your ad will be located only in the consultant directory for the online version), and an enhanced directory listing, as described above. If you're interested in being a distribution sponsor, please contact Andrea Berry at andrea@idealware.org or 207-699-4236.

  • Lead Sponsorship ($2,500): Show yourself as a leader in social media issues with one of four lead sponsorships. Display your logo on the registration page for both the Guide and Policy workbook, and include an opt-in checkbox to receive information from you on the registration pages for both publications (i.e. “Get the Nonprofit Facebook Guide from XYZ firm”). You’ll also receive a half-page ad in the front of both the Guide and Policy workbook (between the title page and report body), and an enhanced directory listing, as described above. If you're interested in being a lead sponsor, please contact Andrea Berry at andrea@idealware.org or 207-699-4236.
